Farther west lies Ambelia, one of the island’s most beautiful natural beaches. We recommend taking the public bus connection to Anaxos or a little farther to the point where the path to Ambelia begins, enjoy the day at the beach, and then take the old donkeys’ path winding through the gardens of Anaxos back home. On the way you will be able to see Molyvos with its fortress behind each bend. We will be walking into the sunset and a dinner with fresh fish in Avlaki could make a marvellous end to the day.

The trail of the three monasteries (transportation to starting point and home needs to be organized in advance). Starting at the women’s monastery Myrsiniotissas with its magical gardens and inner courtyards, the way will lead us to the men’s monastery Ag Limonas, which has a very impressive museum, and finally to its minor monastery Ag. Anagiri. The noteworthy feature of the minor monastery is its chapel with depictions of ancient healers and the double-domed church below with its breathtaking acoustics.
